【Jomon Polished Stone Axe】

This tenugui features a design inspired by the “polished stone axe,” a tool used during the Jomon period to process wood. Made from hard and durable stone materials, these axes were widely used across the Japanese archipelago and are believed to have been crafted using stones obtained through trade with distant regions. The preference for “green stones” among the Jomon people reflects their unique aesthetic sense.
